Researchers who are Indian nationals, and affiliated to a legitimate academic institution are eligible to request for cell lines. There will be a verification process, and applicants will be asked to submit an institutional human ethics approval document to gain access to a cell line.
- On the Biorepository webpage, please go through the FAQs first. This is mandatory, before you sign up to view or request for cell lines.
- Once done, click on “Request for Cell line”.
- This will take you to a new page where you can “Register”. Sign-up using your institutional email ID, full address of the affiliated institute on the form that pops up.
- Await admin approval. This should take 2-3 working days.
- Once approved, the applicant will receive login credentials which can be used to view all the cell lines in the repository.
One can only request cell lines with an active user account. To create one, please see the previous question and “register” by following the steps listed, and then follow the steps outlined below:
- Once you are registered, you can click on “Login” view the cell lines available in the biorepository.
- From this list, you can select the cell lines you require and add them to your request order. Please note that you cannot request more than one vial of each cell line.
- Once the cell lines have been added, you can submit the resource request form with all mandatory details.
*Please note: Institutional Human Ethical Clearance document (IHEC) is mandatory. The IHEC document should have a validity that lasts for the duration of the proposed project.
- The registered applicant will be notified of further procedures and statuses through the web portal.
- The approval process should take around 2-3 weeks.
- Once approved, you can download the following:
- The template of the Material Transfer Agreement (MTA). Please upload the completed MTA form, signed and attested by the institutional authority.
- Order receipt.
- On receipt of completed MTA, the user will be notified and can collect the vials on dry ice. (Please check how to collect samples in the section below.)
- You will be able to download the order receipt and the certificate of analysis (CoA) from the portal.
*Please note: Shipping charges have to be borne by the user.
- Mandatory requirements:
- An Institutional Human Ethics Committee (IHEC) approval letter must be submitted along with the cell line request.
- Material Transfer Agreement (MTA): Once your cell line request has been approved, you can download the template of the MTA. Please upload the completed MTA form, signed and attested by the institutional authority.
Account registration and approval: 2 to 3 working days.
Institutional Research Advisory Committee Approval: 2-3 weeks
Sample collection/delivery: 3-5 working days upon receipt of MTA and payment.
Yes, you can download the CoA, as soon as the line is shipped from RN-CBM.
For out-station users: Samples will be dispatched via courier services (FedEx, DHL, Speed Post) upon receipt of payment and submission of the duly completed MTA form. Users are responsible for payment of courier charges.
For local Users: Samples may be collected directly from CBM–NCBS, Bangalore. Please bring along your canister of dry ice.
